Southgate and Rice Respond to Criticism After Denmark Match

England Face Slovenia in Cologne on Tuesday

Gareth Southgate and Declan Rice have responded to criticism after England's goalless draw with Denmark on Friday. The Three Lions were booed off the pitch at the Riverside Stadium after a disappointing performance, but Southgate has defended his team's performance and Rice has vowed to improve.

Southgate Defends Team's Performance

Southgate said: "I think we played well in the first half and created some good chances. We didn't take them, but I thought we played with a good tempo and intensity. In the second half, we didn't play as well and Denmark grew into the game. Overall, I'm not too disappointed with the performance, but we know we need to improve."

Rice Vows to Improve

Rice said: "I know I didn't have my best game against Denmark. I made a few mistakes and I didn't play with the confidence that I usually do. I'm going to work hard in training and I'm determined to improve. I want to be a key player for England and I'm going to do everything I can to make that happen."
